As of August 25, the 20th Annual Head of the
Genesee Regatta is canceled. Further information will be posted as soon as it becomes available.
We wish to thank the competitors, coaches, and volunteers
who have made this a truly unique and successful rowing regatta for the past 19 years. Thanks also are due to the University of Rochester
and RIT for all they have done for the regatta over these many years.
We especially regret not having the opportunity to
acknowledge Ted Curtis, in what was to be his 20th and
final year as a devoted volunteer at the regatta.
Ted Curtis has supported the
regatta in many ways since its inception, including skippering the
start boat for every single regatta. Ted has a
long history of promoting the use of the waterways
in our region, having served many organizations with
the goal of increasing the economic and recreational
development of the waterways. Ted is the founder of Corn
Hill Navigation, which operates packet boat cruises on our
area's waterways. You can read further details of Ted's contributions
here.
